Project management is a critical capability in business and management in both the private and public sectors, and for people and projects. The project is becoming increasingly important as a coordination mechanism for the development and production of goods and services in general for global competitive markets.
This MSc will discuss the traditional approach to project planning and control, and its critical views, in order to provide you with tools and techniques to apply in projects in general. It focuses on three central issues:
•organisational capabilities
•models of innovation, and
•firm strategy.
These issues will be addressed from the main perspectives of management and innovation.

Autumn term: Fundamentals of Global Management • Managing Innovation.
Spring and summer terms: Managing Innovation in Complex Products and Systems • The Management of Technological Risks.
In addition, relevant skills and techniques are developed in Management Methods and Tools, and a Business Analysis Report offers you the opportunity to pursue selected issues in greater depth.

Courses are assessed by a combination of coursework, essays, group and individual reports, and presentations. There are also unseen examinations.
