课程特征 Course Features:
Experimental textiles
If you're a contemporary textile designer, this course enables you to develop the creative and technological skills you need to thrive in a competitive industry, while challenging the very essence of interaction.
This multidisciplinary course focuses on the traditional textile processes (print, weave, embroidery, knit) while encouraging new experimental approaches. You will examine the development of 2D designs into prototypes and design solutions and explore the creative, business and technological options available to the contemporary textile designer. This can include new relevant technologies such as CAD / CAM Shima and Stoll knit technology, digital print technology, Jacquard weaving and multi-head embroidery.
We offer a great variety of MA titles, but best of all we give you the opportunity to work in a truly transdisciplinary environment. NTU gives MA students their own designated space, where you can meet students from different subject areas and obtain information and support from an MA coordinator and administrator. This makes it easy for you to work with your fellow students, learning the skills of collaborative and inter-cultural sensitivity.
课程内容Course Content :
This course commences annually in September and consists of two modules – module one (60 Credits) and module two (120 Credits).
Module one: This lasts approximately 12 weeks, consists of school related activities (66%) and subject related activities (33%). School related activities relate to the wider needs of the individual in relation to research methodologies, progression, support, academic and community issues in postgraduate study.
Module two: This immediately follows module one and lasts approximately 28 weeks, comprising of the core teaching and learning activities for MA Fashion Knitwear Design, MA Textile Design and Innovation and MA Decorative Arts as agreed in module one.
Emphasis is placed on the development of a self motivated and considered position or context which will reflect, in part, the information, experience and practice generated by the course. The course seeks to achieve a balance between the organisational framework appropriate to postgraduate study and the provision of an environment in which the individual can develop specialised knowledge and skills.
教学与评估 Teaching and Assessment :
Assessment is carried out via coursework at the end of each stage, culminating in an exposition of students' work towards the end of the course.
