课程特征 Course Features：
This new MSc programme is aimed at students who already have a degree in Physics and wish to develop their knowledge and understanding to Masters level via a structured, taught programme. On completion of the Programme, you will be equipped with the advanced skills necessary for high-level entry to the workplace as a professional physicist, or to move comfortably into PhD research, at a level that is at least equivalent to our MSci students on graduation.
课程内容 Course Content ：
The programme is structured over three terms, and places equal emphasis on lecture-based learning, and training in practical skills.
Lecture units are chosen from a portfolio of units in Physics and other Schools (including Mathematics and Earth Sciences). The practical work consists of a practical skills component (comprising computing skills, laboratory skills, presentation/seminar skills) and a research project.
You will complete all the taught units by the beginning of the third term. You will then progress to work exclusively on the research project, to be completed over the summer.
You have the flexibility to emphasize certain topics within the research strengths of the School of Physics; for example you could choose to focus on particle physics, astrophysics or condensed matter physics.
