Computer security remains a hot topic in the media and there is strong demand for graduates with technical skills in this area. This course addresses computer and information security holistically because a vulnerability in any one component can compromise an entire system. This includes computer architectures, operating systems, network technologies, data storage and software development processes. A wide range of threats and other security issues (for example, denial-of-service attacks, hacking, viruses and worms) are covered along with defences and countermeasures.
