课程特征 Course Features:
This programme offers you the opportunity to study the most up-to-date techniques used in mechanical engineering. The programme focuses on the application of advanced technology and the analysis of systems using numerical methods, simulation and optimisation techniques.
Through a choice of modules, you can vary the balance between specialist materials modules and modules dealing with industrial case studies or design. The project allows you to follow a specific research topic which may be experimentally based or could focus on numerical or simulation aspects of mechanical engineering.
The programme is supported by internationally leading research projects in areas such as nano-scale materials engineering, biomedical engineering, 3-D analysis from CT scans for prosthetic bone replacement surgery, additive layer manufacturing for high specification applications with aerospace metals, and application and recycling of polymers and composites.
The programme prepares you for a career in the advanced technological sector or for progression to a PhD for those interested in pursuing a research pathway.
课程内容 Course Content :
The programme includes six compulsory taught modules and two option modules. The taught component of the programme is completed in June with the project extending over the summer period for submission in September.
Total credits required: 180
Core modules
•Engineering Systems Analysis (30)
•Management Concepts (15)
•Computational Modelling (15)
•Mechanics of Materials (15)
•Research Methodology (15)
•Engineering MSc Project (60)
Option modules
